Here I am, so near you,
Sitting lonely with you,
Without you.
You float in my eyes, live in my dreams,
Roam in the clouds of my fantasy,
And bless me with your looks,
Your ravishing looks.
And then you kill me with it.
Have you ever thought
What it takes to restrain this rebel heart-
Remember this rebel me who killed the whole world
Just to be with you.
My cruel love, you hold me thus, restless, helpless,
The same rebel me,
And afraid of your wrath.
They say love breaks all bonds,
Only if they could see how love holds me in chains!
Cruel love, ‘tis a pity to live when
Love is so near, and yet beyond reach.
But can you hold my fancy-
Yes I see you now, sitting in your room,
Tender sunlight through your open hair,
Your soft and pouted lips,
Your bright dress,
And a lovely face-
Are you lonely there for me,
Hoping that I shall break your chains for you?
But may be I am wrong.
May be you are somewhere else,
With someone else.
Doing something else.
Yes, and if so, how can I break your wish,
Treading into your happiness.
The sun rose hours ago,
And the minutes pass by.
Soon the day will pass by,
Never to come again in a year hence;
Could I say to you the same, once more,
Could I?
Yes, that troubles,
And troubles the dilemma-
Am I, or am I not your Valentine!

The lover has been asked by his mistress not to
call her on the Lover’s day. But the lover is in a dilemma. He
wonders- was she earnest, or was she teasing me? He contemplates
everything and comes to the realisation that the girl would be
waiting to hear from him when the special day comes.
